When is Step it up for Clearbrook?
Saturday, September 21, 2019

Is it a walk or run?
It is both! There is a 5K run option (both a fun run and a chipped/timed option), and a 1 mile walk option. Our 5K runners will start first followed by walkers. Don't worry if you can't complete the whole race. You are still welcome to join us for the festivities!

I can’t attend the event. Can I still fundraise for Clearbrook?
Absolutely! Please select the “virtual walker” option during the registration process. A fundraising page will be created for you when you complete the registration process. Please let us know if you would like us to send you a t-shirt at step@clearbrook.org.

How much does it cost to participate?
The registration fee is $25 for fun runners (not chipped/timed) and walkers. The fee for timed/chipped runners is $35.

We also offer a Kids Dash for $10. This is a short run around the park. Kids will get a shirt and access to event activities. Kids 10 and younger only, please.

Registration fee includes an event t-shirt, sponsor goodies, and food/drink at the event.

Why does it cost more to register for the chipped/timed run?
The chipped/timed run requires additional equipment. The additional registration fees cover the cost of this equipment.

There will be a prize for the top male and female finishers.

All chipped runners will have access to see their official time after the event.

Can I bring my kids? Do I need to register them?

Yes, you can bring your kids to the event. The registration fee helps cover the costs of the event: t-shirts, food, water, event management etc. If your child would like a t-shirt and will be partaking in food and event activities, we request that they be registered to help cover expenses. The Kids Dash is available for children 10 and younger. All individuals who wish to receive a t-shirt must be registered.

Are there activities for families?

Is my registration fee a donation?

Your registration fee is not considered a charitable donation to Clearbrook. The IRS states the tax deductible amount is limited to the excess of any dollar amount contributed, less the value of goods and/or services provided by Clearbrook.

In exchange for your registration fee, you receive an event t-shirt, food/drink and the event experience. Therefore, the registration fee is not tax deductible.

All donations over and above the registration fee are tax-deductible charitable gifts that will help to support Clearbrook clients and programs.

Do I have to raise $250?

We hope that each walker/runner raise $250, allowing Clearbrook to provide opportunities for clients. However, it is not a requirement to participate. If you raise $250, you will earn a Clearbrook hoodie. See more details here.

Can I register the day of the event?

Yes. Please give yourself plenty of time to register before the beginning of the walk/run (8:30 a.m.).  You will need to fill out an event waiver and pay the registration fee.  We cannot guarantee to have your t-shirt size in stock, but we will do our best!

Can friends and family make a donation to a walker/runner by going through the main website?

Yes. Direct them to this site.  They will be directed to look for you by first or last name.  They can also search for team. You can also send them the link from your personal fundraising page and they can click on the donate button on that page.

Someone donated to me and they don’t show up on my webpage.

The donor may have selected , “I wish to remain anonymous” when s/he donated to your web page.  The donor may have donated to your team (in which case they would not show up on your personal page, but would appear on the team page). You may also  email us at step@clearbrook.org and staff can search for the donation and apply it to your page, at the donor’s request.
